Today, Quarto is one of the world's largest Groups producing illustrated non-fiction books.

Quarto was established in London in 1976 before listing on the London Stock Exchange in 1986. Quarto has since grown substantially, both organically and through acquisitions. It comprises more than 20 units based in the UK, the USA, Australia, New Zealand and Hong Kong, producing books under a number of imprints.

With more than 400 employees worldwide, Quarto creates over 600 adult and children's books a year, which are sold into 45 countries and in 35 languages. Subjects range from Art 'How to', Graphic Design, Home Improvement, Cooking, Gardening, Motoring, Crafts - in fact, any subject that can be better explained with photographs or illustrations.

The enduring quality of Quarto's books ensures that over 60% of the Group's turnover comes from a backlist of over 9,000 titles, providing a stable revenue stream year after year.

Quarto's proven business model has underpinned the Group's success and it remains poised to take advantage of new opportunities.

Quarto is also involved in related areas of display marketing (franchise retailing of books in Australia and New Zealand) and print broking in Hong Kong.
